Trip to the BWS Exhibit

On Sunday, eight fellow artists travelled together to the Baltimore Watercolor Society annual exhibit - held this year at The Black Rock Center for the Arts in Germantown, MD.  My painting "Jerk Chicken - $5" was chosen for the show so seven of my special artist friends and I went to the reception.  It was a glorious fall day, we crossed the river on White's Ferry and drove on back country roads to get there...nice little adventure in itself.  The show was full of exceptional art work and it was interesting to see what others are doing.

Thanks to my supportive friends - Kim, Julie, Margot, Linda, Mary Carolyn, Doris and Pia-we had a great day.

Check Kim's blog - www.kimroluti.blogspot.com - she posted the pictures of our trip.

Exhibition

So excited to announce my painting "Jerk Chicken - $5" was juried onto the 2012 Mid-Atlantic Regional Exhibition - at BlackRock Center for the Arts, Germantown ,MD.  The exhibit will run from Aug. 29 to October 4.
Selections was made by Frank Webb and he will be the judge as well.  Feeling pretty happy about just being one of 100 selected for this large show sponsored by the Baltimore Watercolor Society.

Just back from the beach visiting our family - this is a small painting called Brett and the Big Fish.  Brett is my 12 year old grandson - on the right.

Summer mood !

Very hot here on the East coast. Good time to stay inside - so finished painting the hard shell crabs and JAX beer can, a vase of colorful flowers and some sketches. Getting ready for the 4 day watercolor workshop next week.

SUMMER PAINTING IDEAS

Warm weather is here and brings new painting ideas. In the last month, I've finished a man grilling jerk chicken on the Apple Blossom downtown midway, a neighbor walking her dogs, grandchildren at the beach and the gardener. Have entered "Jerk Chicken" in the Baltimore Watercolor Society Fall Show - will know in August if it is accepted. Lots of tough competition for that one! Thinking now about painting summer activities and hardshell crabs!

Art at the Mill

Happy that the watercolor painting, "Yellow on Blue" sold at the show. It's a good feeling! Other good news - our twelve year old grandson sang a solo(American Soldier by Toby Keith) at the end of year school program, and the word is that he was FABULOUS! Great job, Brett - sorry we missed the show!

The Spring art show in Millwood Va  - ART AT THE MILL - runs from today, April 28 through May 13, 2012.
The show helps raise money for the old mill and supports the lucky and talented artists who sell their paintings there.

I'm happy to have 5 paintings entered.  Crossing my fingers that the show will be profitable for everyone.
